RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1449

A resolution approving an application for a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to provide mental health services and criminal justice system advocacy whenever individuals, families, and/or the community are affected by violent crime.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, is accepting grant applications to provide mental health services and criminal justice system advocacy whenever individuals, families, and/or the community are affected by violent crime with an award of $626,220.00 and a required cash match of 156,555.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to provide mental health services and criminal justice system advocacy whenever individuals, families, and/or the community are affected by violent crime, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is authorized to submit said grant application to the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
