RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1411

A resolution approving an application for a Kellytown Master Plan Grant from the Tennessee Historical Commission to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Historical Commission in conjunction with the Metropolitan Parks and Recreation Department, the Friends of Kellytown, and Congregation Micah, to hire a consultant to complete a Master Plan for the Kellytown Native American Archaeological Site.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Historical Commission is accepting applications for a Kellytown Master Plan Grant, with an award of $30,000.00 and an in-kind match of $30,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Historical Commission in conjunction with the Metropolitan Parks and Recreation Department, the Friends of Two Rivers Mansion, and Congregation Micah, to hire a consultant to complete a Master Plan for Kellytown Native American Archaeological Site, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Historical Commission is authorized to submit said application to the Tennessee Historical Commission.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
