RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1399

A resolution recognizing the Lenox Village Area Business Association.

WHEREAS, small businesses are the backbone of our economy and the glue that holds our community together; and

WHEREAS, the Lenox Village Area Business Association (LVABA) provides an avenue for businesses to speak as one voice on important business interests along with a focus on the community; and

WHEREAS, the Lenox Village Area Business Association (LVABA) was established in 2012, has approximately 75 members and are located along Nolensville Road (Pike), Nashville between the north boundary of Lenox Village and Mill Creek; and

WHEREAS, the Lenox Village Area Business Association (LVABA) mission shall be to help brand the Lenox Village area, promote business growth, and support the local community; and

WHEREAS, over the past three years its main charity event (The Great Food Truck Festival) has raised over $6,000.00 for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee; and

WHEREAS, it is well known that local businesses create jobs, boost our local economy, and preserve our neighborhoods; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the Lenox Village Area Business Association as they unit and promote businesses while rebuilding and re-establishing the image of the Lenox Village area.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the Lenox Village Area Business Association.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mr. Jim Kendrick, 2015 President of the Lenox Village Area Business Association on behalf of all the merchants.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
