A resolution recognizing Yes Lord Radio’s 5th Anniversary.

WHEREAS, Yes Lord Radio (YLR) was founded by Co-Owners: Howard C. Young, III and Rodrick J. Warren as a small Christian e-newsletter in 2010 that featured gospel entertainment news, inspirational word, and healthy living tips; and

WHEREAS, within a year of being founded Yes Lord Radio increased its listening and viewing audience and won its first Stellar Award for Internet Radio Station of the Year and is the Number One National Internet Radio Station for Christian and Gospel Music Entertainment; and

WHEREAS, today, YLR representatives from across the country --- known as YLR Ambassadors --- provide leading event coverage, via live interviews, or live streaming, within Gospel and Christian Music Entertainment. Yes Lord Radio has received numerous awards and nominations, being recognized as pioneers in the Gospel Internet Radio market, while continuing to seek new and innovative ways to deliver great Gospel and Christian Music; and

WHEREAS, in the Fall of 2010 as the urban gospel genre began to capture the interests of young Christian artists and listeners, YLR introduced the Hype Urban Gospel channel and that same year, YLR strategically developed a mobile website and Android app to increase the mobility of our programs; and

WHEREAS, in 2012, updated versions of the mobile app were released and the YLR app was developed for Blackberry and iPhone users. It is absolutely essential to have Christian Radio available so that all people, all nations, and every family can honor God with the most precious gift of all – knowledge based upon God's truth and Yes Lord Radio is a place where every person will receive solid Christian music and wholesome entertainment and that all things work together for good, and nothing is impossible when you say "Yes" to the "Lord"; and

WHEREAS, Yes Lord Radio is a multiple award winning radio station that features three channels: YLR Gospel Hits, YLR Hype and YLR Gold Praise. Yes Lord Radio has served as the official media sponsor for several major events, including the I Hear Music In The Air Conference and exclusive CD release parties for Tye Tribbett, James Fortune, Smokie Norful, the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel and Motown Gospel and has hosted such top musical luminaries as Mary Mary, J. Moss, Tamela Mann, Anita Wilson, and the list continues to grow; and

WHEREAS, Yes Lord Radio has earned and received numerous accolades as “Internet Radio Station of the Year” and from the Stellar Awards, Crystal Mic Awards and the Blue Mic Awards:

WHEREAS, YLR believes in serving the community and helping others and has been able to give regularly to those who are in need through its YLR Cares program. The YLR Cares program has hosted coat drives, raised food for needy families, provided school uniforms to students and had provided mentoring services to at risk youth including tutoring, social workshops and scholarships; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes and congratulates Yes Lord Radio (YLR) on their 5th anniversary and commend them for seeking to offer opportunities that INSPIRE both artists and fans of Gospel music and their service to the community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Yes Lord Radio’s 5th Anniversary.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Howard C. Young, III and Rodrick J. Warren on behalf of Yes Lord Radio.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
