RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1350

A resolution appropriating funds from the Fund for Cities of Service, Inc. to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office pursuant to a memorandum of understanding, to fund the implementation of Storm Busters utilizing volunteers to plant trees and rain gardens in areas across Nashville that have a high propensity for flooding.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office and the Fund for Cities of Service, Inc., wish to enter into a memorandum of understanding to fund the implementation of Storm Busters utilizing volunteers to plant trees and rain gardens in areas across Nashville that have a high propensity for flooding; and,

WHEREAS, Cities of Service, Inc. has awarded the Metropolitan Government $25,000.00 to fund this project; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the funds from this memorandum of understanding be appropriated to the Mayor’s Office.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the funds from the memorandum of understanding by and between the Fund for Cities of Service, Inc. and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office, to fund the implementation of Storm Busters utilizing volunteers to plant trees and rain gardens in areas across Nashville that have a high propensity for flooding, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, be appropriated to the Mayor’s Office based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
