RESOLUTION NO. RS2015-1346
A resolution honoring the life of our good friend Robert Corenswet.
WHEREAS, putting it plain and simple, on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, the passing of Robert Corenswet has brought a great loss to the family and friends of this beloved individual; and
WHEREAS, he was a Board member and past President of NeedLink Nashville (formerly Big Brothers of Nashville) for many years, he organized its holiday food box program, which benefits over 4, 000 people annually and was a long-time volunteer with the Nashville Humane Society; and
WHEREAS, he developed and owned Bellevue Putt-Putt Golf and Games and was commonly recognized as “Mr. Putt-Putt” providing jobs, opportunity and support for local teens; and
WHEREAS, he and his wife Lucy loved and fostered 21 babies through Miriam’s Promise and he remembered to call friends and loved ones on every birthday, anniversary, and special occasion; and
WHEREAS, he was deeply devoted to his family as a loving husband to his wife Lucy, as a father to daughter Haley and son Matt; and
WHEREAS, we wish to remember how Robert lived, with integrity, humor and grace; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council hereby express and extend our sincere sympathy to Mr. Corenswet’s family.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as honoring the life of our good friend Robert Corenswet.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to the family of Robert Corenswet.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
