RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-974

A resolution approving amendments eight and nine to a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to protect air quality to achieve established ambient air standards and protect human health.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a grant agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to protect air quality to achieve established ambient air standards and protect human health; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $106,999.00 from $1,509,000.00 to $1,615,999.00 (amendment eight) and increase the amount of the grant by $147,957.00 from $1,615,999.00 to $1,763,956.00 (amendment nine) and to extend the end date to September 30, 2014, copies of which amendments eight and nine are attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendments eight and nine be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendments eight and nine to the grant by and between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to protect air quality to achieve established ambient air standards and protect human health, copies of which amendments eight and nine are attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant amendment be appropriated to the Board of Health based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
