RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-973

A resolution approving amendment one to the grant from the Friends of Centennial Park and Parthenon to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Parks and Recreation Department, to provide funding for one employee’s salary.

WHEREAS, the Friends of Centennial Park and Parthenon awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $90,000.00 with a required cash match of $33,475.00 for benefits to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Parks and Recreation Department to fund one position for Fiscal Year 2014 (FY14) RS2013-646, a copy of which grant is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant contract to increase the funding by $55,000.00 with an increase in the cash match of $24,812.50 and to extend the grant from June 30, 2014 until December 31, 2014, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and is included in the FY14 budget; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the grant and amendment one be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant and amendment one to the grant by and between the Friends of Centennial Park and Parthenon and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Parks and Recreation Department, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
