RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-955
A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the Greater Nashville Regional Council to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines at congregate meal sites, meal delivery services, and transportation to eligible seniors and handicapped residents.
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Greater Nashville Regional Council to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines at congregate meal sites, meal delivery services, and transportation to eligible seniors and handicapped residents approved by RS2013-775; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant for Nutrition Services IIIC (Hot/Bulk) portion by $176,519.00 with an increase in the required cash match of $19,613.23, to increase the amount of the grant for Nutrition Services NSIP (USDA) by $19,736.00, no cash match required, to decrease the amount of the grant for Home Delivered Meals IIIC2 (Frozen) by $11,402.00 with a decrease in the required cash match of $1,266.89, and an increase in Home Delivered Meals (State funding) by $10,094.00 with an increase in the required cash match of $1,121.56 for a new grant total of $928,229.00, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the Greater Nashville Regional Council and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines at congregate meal sites, meal delivery services, and transportation to eligible seniors and handicapped residents, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
