RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-1293

A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (“MNPD”), and the State of Tennessee, acting by and through the Department of General Services, to use space inside the MNPD West Precinct as a State of Tennessee Driver’s License Kiosk facility (Proposal No. 2014M-030PR-001).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County operates the MNPD West Precinct located at 5500 Charlotte Pike, Nashville; and,

WHEREAS, MNPD, and the State of Tennessee, Department of General Services, have entered into an intergovernmental agreement, attached hereto and incorporated herein, to use space inside the MNPD West Precinct as a State of Tennessee Driver’s License Kiosk facility; and,

WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104 provides for approval of intergovernmental agreements by resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement, attached hereto and incorporated by reference, between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through MNPD, and the State of Tennessee, acting by and through the Department of General Services, to use space inside the MNPD West Precinct as a State of Tennessee driver’s license kiosk facility, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall become effective from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
