RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-1259

A resolution approving amendments one, two, and three to a Gang Resistance Education and Training Program (G.R.E.A.T.) grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into an agreement with the United States Department of Justice for a Gang Resistance Education and Training Program (G.R.E.A.T.) grant, which was approved by resolution RS2010-1471; and,

WHEREAS, amendment one to the grant agreement increases the amount of the grant award by $50,000.00 and increases the required cash match by $9,359.00; amendment two extends the end date of the grant period to September 30, 2014; and amendment three further extends the grant period to September 30, 2015, copies of which amendments one, two, and three are attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these amendments be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendments one, two, and three to the Gang Resistance Education and Training Program (G.R.E.A.T.) grant by and between the U.S. Department of Justice and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, a copy of which amendments one, two, and three are attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
