RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-1201

A resolution approving an application for the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee State Library and Archives, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to provide a well-trained library staff to assist customers in accessing technology.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Tennessee State Library and Archives, is accepting applications for the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grant with an award of $7,322.00 and a required cash match of $7,322.00 to provide a well-trained library staff to assist customers in accessing technology; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government’s application for the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grant with an award of $7,322.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Nashville Public Library is authorized to submit said application to the State of Tennessee, Tennessee State Library and Archives.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
