RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-1176

A resolution accepting and appropriating the donation of approximately $160,500 to the Metropolitan Government for the use and benefit of Metro Animal Care and Control.

WHEREAS, the Last Will and Testament of James Bomar Talbot allocated 11% of his Residuary Estate, determined to be approximately $160,500, to be donated to Metro Animal Care and Control; and

WHEREAS, a copy of the Last Will and Testament of James Bomar Talbot is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Metro Code § 5.04.100(B), donations exceeding $5,000 may be accepted and appropriated pursuant to Resolution; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these donations be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the donation of $160,500 to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the use and benefit of Metro Animal Care and Control, a division of the Metropolitan Public Health Department, pursuant to the donation documentation attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the donation of $160,500 to Metro Animal Care and Control is hereby appropriated to the Metropolitan Public Health Department.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
