RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-1159
A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Government-owned property located at 3254 Ezell Pike to be used by the Department of Public Works as a convenience center pursuant to Section 2.206.010 of the Metropolitan Code.
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works is responsible for providing residents of Nashville and Davidson County convenience access to drop-off recyclables, bulky items and household hazardous waste; and,
WHEREAS, locating a convenience center on the property located at 3254 Ezell Pike would provide more convenient waste and recycling access to the residents in the southern part of Davidson County; and,
WHEREAS, Section 2.206.010 provides that Metropolitan Government departments, agencies, boards or commissions shall have the authority to be exempted from compliance with provisions of the Metropolitan Code for just cause upon adoption of a resolution of the Metropolitan Council approved by twenty-one affirmative votes.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY THAT:
Section 1. Pursuant to Section 2.206.010 of the Metropolitan Code, the Metropolitan Council hereby approves the use of the Metropolitan Government-owned property located at 3254 Ezell Pike as a convenience center.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
