RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-1101

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to establish programs and deliver services to prepare dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force and to offer training to those facing serious barriers to productive employment (LW09F122SDWRSP12).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to establish programs and deliver services to prepare dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force and to offer training for those facing serious barriers to productive employment approved by RS2013-736; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that grant agreement to increase the grant amount by $117,000.00 for a new grant total of $429,582.00, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to establish programs and deliver services to prepare dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force and to offer training to those facing serious barriers to productive employment, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
