RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-1079

A resolution to approve the first amendment to the lease agreement between The Metropolitan Government and the Parkway Towers, LLC for office space in the Parkway Towers, 404 James Robertson Parkway, for use by several Metro agencies (Proposal No. 2013M-033PR-02).

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government and the Parkway Towers, LLC previously entered into a lease agreement for office space in the Parkway Towers (the “Building”) located at 404 James Robertson Parkway in Nashville to house various departments of the Metropolitan Government and dated November 6, 2013, which lease was approved by Ordinance BL2013-555; and,

WHEREAS, the lease agreement gave the Metropolitan Government a right of first refusal for certain additional spaces in the Building, and the Parkway Towers, LLC have offered such additional space and the Metropolitan Government has agreed to rent the additional space; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government and the Parkway Towers, LLC wish to amend the lease to include the additional space in the lease; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this first lease amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: That this First Amendment to the Lease Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Director of Finance or his designee is authorized to execute it on behalf of the Metropolitan Government.

Section 2: That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
