RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-1077

A resolution approving amendment six to a grant from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, acting by and through the Vanderbilt Department of Pediatrics, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, to collaborate on the Growing Right Onto Wellness (GROW) project to stop obesity in preschoolers before it becomes problematic.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, previously entered into a grant agreement with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, acting by and through the Vanderbilt Department of Pediatrics, to collaborate on the Growing Right Onto Wellness (GROW) project to stop obesity in preschoolers before it becomes problematic approved by RS2011-1560; and,

WHEREAS, amendment six increases the amount of grant funds for year four by $66,655.00 with no cash match required for a new grant total of $643,363.67, a copy of which amendment six is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment six be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment six to the grant by and between Vanderbilt University Medical Center, acting by and through the Vanderbilt Department of Pediatrics, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, to collaborate on the Growing Right Onto Wellness (GROW) project to stop obesity in preschoolers before it becomes problematic, a copy of which amendment six is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
