RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-1072
A resolution approving a grant application for a grant from the Greater Nashville Regional Council to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to provide transportation to eligible seniors and handicapped residents in Davidson County.
WHEREAS, the Greater Nashville Regional Council is accepting grant applications to provide transportation to eligible seniors and handicapped residents in Davidson County with an award of $70,000.00 and a required cash match of $7,777.78; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to provide transportation to eligible seniors and handicapped residents in Davidson County, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Social Services Commission is authorized to submit said grant application to the Greater Nashville Regional Council.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
