RESOLUTION NO. RS2014-1055

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to create a comprehensive strategy to address issues and barriers to responsible fatherhood.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a grant agreement with the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, to create a comprehensive strategy to address issues and barriers to responsible fatherhood approved by RS2013-924; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to approve the project budget of $1,589,107.00 and remove restrictions on the draw-down of Federal funds, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to create a comprehensive strategy to address issues and barriers to responsible fatherhood, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
