RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-935

A resolution approving an application for a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to fund a Pilot Program to provide direct services to victims from high crime areas of the greater Metropolitan Nashville area and Davidson County.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, is accepting grant applications to fund a Pilot Program to provide direct services to victims from high crime areas of the greater Metropolitan Nashville area and Davidson County with an award of $110,000.00 and a required cash match of $28,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to fund a Pilot Program to provide direct services to victims from high crime areas of the greater Metropolitan Nashville area and Davidson County, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is authorized to submit said grant application to the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
