RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-909

A resolution approving amendment two to a contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and Vanderbilt University, by and through its Medical Center POD, to provide licensed medical employees and other licensed medical professionals specified by the Worksite POD with mass prophylaxis for distribution in the event of a public health emergency.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a contract with Vanderbilt University, by and through its Medical Center POD, to provide licensed medical employees and other licensed medical professionals specified by the Worksite POD with mass prophylaxis for distribution in the event of a public health emergency approved by RS2010-1450; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by extending the end date to June 30, 2014, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment two be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment two to the contract by and between Vanderbilt University, by and through its Medical Center POD, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide licensed medical employees and other licensed medical professionals specified by the Worksite POD with mass prophylaxis for distribution in the event of a public health emergency, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
