RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-834

A resolution approving amendment one to the AmeriCorps Vista Volunteer Grant from the Tennessee Literacy Coalition to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Community Education Commission, to provide an AmeriCorps program participant to assist in building volunteer capacity.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Community Education Commission, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Literacy Coalition to provide an AmeriCorps program participant to assist in building volunteer capacity approved by RS2013-655; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by changing the grant period to begin on August 1, 2013 and end on August 1, 2014 since a volunteer was not hired during the initial grant term; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the AmeriCorps Vista Volunteer Grant by and between the Tennessee Literacy Coalition and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Community Education Commission, to assist in building volunteer capacity, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
