RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-812

A resolution approving an application for a grant from the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Animal Control, to purchase materials and supplies to construct animal shelters.

WHEREAS, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee is accepting grant applications to purchase materials and supplies to construct animal shelters with an award of $4,100.88 with no cash match required; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Animal Control, to purchase materials and supplies to construct animal shelters, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is authorized to submit said grant application to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
