RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-789

A resolution accepting a JAG Family Justice Center grant from the State of Tennessee, Office of Criminal Justice Programs, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Mayor’s Office, for a site coordinator to provide assistance with planning, developing, and establishing a Family Justice Center in Davidson County.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Office of Criminal Justice Programs, has awarded a JAG Family Justice Center grant in an amount not to exceed $240,000.00 with no cash match required to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Mayor’s Office, for a site coordinator to provide assistance with planning, developing, and establishing a Family Justice Center in Davidson County; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant award be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the JAG Family Justice Center grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Metropolitan Nashville Mayor’s Office, in an amount not to exceed $240,000.00 and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Mayor’s Office, for a site coordinator to provide assistance with planning, developing, and establishing a Family Justice Center in Davidson County, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Metropolitan Nashville Mayor’s Office based on revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3 That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
