RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-762

A resolution recognizing Commander Terrence Graves and the men and women who are committed to serve the North Precinct of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

WHEREAS, under the leadership of Commander Terrence Graves, the North Precinct has been exemplary in investigating crimes, prosecuting criminals, and serving the community by creating and maintaining positive relationships within the area they serve; and

WHEREAS, the North Precinct is staffed by dedicated law enforcement officers skilled in responding to any crisis, while performing their duties with utmost dedication and professionalism; their services can only be categorized as outstanding; and

WHEREAS, the men and women of the North Precinct put themselves in harm's way every day to make sure others aren't in jeopardy while working long hours to protect and serve, not only the communities served by the North Precinct but, all citizens; and

WHEREAS, the contributions, abilities and composure of these valiant public servants are an inspiration and reassurance to the safety and peace of mind of everyone who lives, works or visits this community; and

WHEREAS, the members of the law enforcement of the North Precinct, by their faithful and loyal devotion to their responsibilities, have rendered a dedicated service to the city and, in so doing, have established themselves a reputation for preserving the rights and security of all citizens; and

WHEREAS, under the command of North Precinct Commander Terrence Graves, cooperation between police officers of the North Precinct and neighborhood associations is credited with helping cut the overall crime rate; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the hard work of our law enforcement officers who make it possible for us to live our lives in safety each day and who deserve high praise and true appreciation.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Commander Terrence Graves and the men and women who are committed to serve the North Precinct of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to North Precinct Commander Terrence Graves on behalf of the men and women who serve the North Precinct.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
