RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-761

A resolution recognizing David and Becky Waynick, owners of the Nashboro Golf Course.

WHEREAS, David and Becky Waynick, owners, along with friends and family recently celebrated the one year anniversary of the operation of the Nashboro Golf Course, of which they bought last year to save and restore it to its former success; and

WHEREAS, David and Becky Waynick efforts have not gone unnoticed as they worked tirelessly on behalf of the Nashboro and surrounding communities, in preserving the Gran Dale Manor and providing affordable access to the game of golf by also preserving and restoring the area’s golf course to its original appeal; and

WHEREAS, golf courses provide a focus for healthful, social and family activity, as well as, habitat for a broad range of wildlife in heavily urbanized areas; and

WHEREAS, they have made tremendous improvements and are committed to the long term success of the course and the community for which it supports and surrounds; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Page, PGA, Head Golf Professional, managed the golf course, Lynn Ray, of Golf Management Group, Inc., consultant; and Bill Riley Jr., served as superintendent over ground maintenance, all were instrumental in improving the Nashboro Golf Course; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes community leader’s David and Becky Waynick for their accomplishments with the Nashboro Golf Course.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing David and Becky Waynick, owners of the Nashboro Golf Course.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to David and Becky Waynick.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
