RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-729

A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (hereinafter “MNPD”), and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for extra-duty police services.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has identified a need for routine patrols and law enforcement services for Corps Recreation Areas in Davidson County located on J. Percy Priest and Old Hickory Lakes; and,

WHEREAS, MNPD is able to provide extra-duty police services that would aid the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to address this need; and,

WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the MNPD, desire to enter into an intergovernmental agreement to provide this service; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to provide extra-duty police services, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2: That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
