RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-722

A resolution approving an agreement between the United States Department of the Army and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, for the Cumberland River and Tributaries in Davidson County Feasibility Study being conducted in Davidson County, Tennessee, and authorizing all necessary officials to execute the same.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services has developed an agreement with the United States Department of the Army to conduct a feasibility study for the Cumberland River and associated tributaries; and,

WHEREAS, the scope of study is to include a focus on flood risk management alternatives; and,

WHEREAS, the parties to the agreement will jointly fund the cost based on the scope of the study; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this agreement be approved and the United States Department of the Army perform the study.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That said agreement by and between the United States Department of the Army and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, to conduct a feasibility study on the Cumberland River and associated tributaries, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
