RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-695

A resolution approving an application for an Art Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission.

WHEREAS, the National Endowment for the Arts is accepting applications for an Art Works grant, with an award of $25,000.00, required matching funds of $44,245.00, and an in-kind match of $14,400.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission, for an Art Works grant, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission is authorized to submit said application to the National Endowment for the Arts.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
