RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-685

A resolution recognizing Scott Dillon, Project Director at TRT Holdings, Inc./Omni Hotels.

WHEREAS, Scott Dillon, Project Director at TRT Holdings, Inc./Omni Hotels since April of 2011, has played an instrumental role with the Omni Nashville Hotel since the project’s inception and is well deserving of recognition at this time; and

WHEREAS, as Project Director Mr. Dillon, was responsible for overall budget, design, and schedule for the new 800 room 800,000 S.F. Omni Nashville Hotel and 200,000 square foot addition to the Country Music Hall of Fame; and leading the DBE team to exceeding the twenty percent (20%) Minority, Women, and Small business participation, including exceeding twenty-percent (20%) Local business participation in the construction of the Omni Nashville Hotel and the Country Music Hall of Fame Expansion Project; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Dillon’s commitment and effort to meet DBE goals set by the city of Nashville have been proven successful, exceeding 30% DBE participation on the Omni Hotel project; and

WHEREAS, the performance of TRT Holdings, Inc. on the Omni Nashville Hotel project, under Mr. Dillon’s leadership, is proof that the private sector can meet and exceed DBE goals in the Middle Tennessee region; and

WHEREAS, this recognition is not only for Scott Dillon, but also to TRT Holdings, Inc./Omni Hotels for their constant pursuit of a higher standard and their partnership with the City of Nashville; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Dillon is to be commended for his timeless efforts, energy and commitment in helping build the Omni Hotel as one of the finest in Nashville; and his dedicated commitment to providing opportunities to Minorities, Women, Small, and Locally Owned Business Enterprises to participate on this project; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Scott Dillon has received numerous awards and accolades for his work in the hospitality area such as lead developer on the St. Regis Bal Harbour, Westin St. Maarten, and Omni Amelia Island Plantation, just to name a few of his most recent projects; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Mr. Scott Dillon for his outstanding work, day to day involvement and commitment with the Omni Nashville Hotel project.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Mr. Scott Dillon, Project Director at TRT Holdings, Inc./Omni Hotels.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mr. Scott Dillon, Project Director of The Omni Nashville Hotel and Country Music Hall of Fame Expansion Project.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
