RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-674

A resolution approving the fee schedule for the issuance of commercial solicitation permits and identification badges.

WHEREAS, Substitute Ordinance No. BL2012-283, as amended, enacted by the Metropolitan Council on March 5, 2013, amended Chapter 6.64 of the Metropolitan Code to provide new regulations for the permitting of commercial solicitors; and

WHEREAS, Section 6.64.060 of the Metropolitan Code now provides that commercial solicitation permit applicants pay a fee in an amount determined by the Metropolitan Clerk to be sufficient to defray the costs incurred by the Metropolitan Government in processing the application, plus an additional fee to defray the costs of preparing and issuing an identification badge for each person to be authorized to solicit under the permit, including the applicant; and

WHEREAS, Section 6.64.060 of the Metropolitan Code further provides that such fees shall be ratified by resolution of the metropolitan council prior to becoming effective; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Clerk has developed a fee schedule pursuant to Section 6.64.060 of the Metropolitan Code, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as “Exhibit A”; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the residents of Nashville and Davidson County that the Metropolitan Council ratify the commercial solicitation permit fee schedule.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Commercial Solicitation Permit Fee Schedule developed by the Metropolitan Clerk, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby ratified and approved.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
