RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-657

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, to provide services to assist low income and/or homeless individuals achieve self-sufficiency.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services; to provide services designed to assist low income and/or homeless individuals achieve self-sufficiency approved by RS2012-330; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $252,185.24 for a new grant total of $1,563,548.49, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be approved and that the funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, to provide services to assist low income and/or homeless individuals achieve self-sufficiency, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 3. That the amount of this grant amendment be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
