RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-607

A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the claims of Jenny, Geyder, and Alexa Alvarado against the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in the amount of $12,500, and that said amount be paid out of the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

WHEREAS, on July 28, 2009, a vehicle owned by the Metropolitan Government and operated by a Metropolitan Nashville Public Works Department employee struck Jenny Alvarado’s car, causing injury to Jenny Alavarado and her passenger Alexa Alvarado; and,

WHEREAS, after investigation, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes the settlement amount as set forth in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and recommends that the claim be compromised and settled.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the claims of Jenny, Geyder, and Alexa Alvarado for the sum of $12,500. This amount shall be paid out of the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Section 2: This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
