RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-600

A resolution approving a package of amendments to a grant from the United States Department of Homeland Security to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Fire Department, to purchase computer equipment and software for fire inspectors to conduct inspections and generate violation reports in the field.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Fire Department, previously entered into a grant agreement with the United States Department of Homeland Security, to purchase computer equipment and software for fire inspectors to conduct inspections and generate violation reports in the field approved by Resolution RS2011-17; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by modifying line item expenditures and by extending the end date to March 8, 2013 in order to expend surplus funds on equipment, a copy of which amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, the amount of the grant agreement and the amount of matching funds will remain unchanged; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these amendments be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the amendments to the grant agreement by and between the United States Department of Homeland Security and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Fire Department, to purchase computer equipment and software for fire inspectors to conduct inspections and generate violation reports in the field, a copy of which amendments are attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
