RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-552

A resolution recognizing Representative Mary Pruitt for her service to the fine people of Tennessee.

WHEREAS, a native Tennessean, Mary Pruitt was born in Davidson County, attended Tennessee State University and was an educator; and

WHEREAS, Representative Mary Pruitt has served both her constituency and this legislative body with honor and distinction as a House member of the 94th through the 107th General Assemblies; and

WHEREAS, Mary Pruitt represented the good people of House District 58 during the last 37 years as their representative, a position in which she performed admirably; and

WHEREAS, an active and dynamic participant in the legislative process, Representative Pruitt capably served on a number of committees and has graciously donated her time and energies to many community and civic organizations; and

WHEREAS, Representative Pruitt has worked tirelessly on behalf of her constituents and has demonstrated the utmost professionalism and integrity while earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Representative Mary Pruitt for her meritorious service to the State of Tennessee and wish her much happiness.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Representative Mary Pruitt for her service to the fine people of Tennessee.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Representative Mary Pruitt.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
