RESOLUTION NO. RS2013-549

A resolution recognizing Bryce Enich for his participation in the 2012 Nashville Beautiful art contest.

WHEREAS, Bryce Enich, a 4th grade student in Brandi Harvey’s classroom at Una Elementary participated in this year’s Nashville Beautiful art contest; and

WHEREAS, this talented individual used his creativity and environmental awareness in submitting his rendering of this year’s contest theme of reducing the carbon footprint, under the direction of art teacher Caroline Bartlett; and

WHEREAS, for the past seven years the Nashville Beautiful art contest has been opened to all Metro Nashville Public School third and fourth graders and in its seventh year, 70 entries from 35 elementary schools were submitted with this year’s grand prize artwork producing a first in the contest’s seven–year history a tie for first place; and

WHEREAS, Metro Public Works, Metro Beautification & Environment Commission, Metro Nashville Public Schools, Red River Service Corporation, Nashville Arts Collection and Metropolitan Arts Commission are partners in this ongoing education program; and

WHEREAS, as a finalist from the art contest Bryce will have his art on display on Red River household waste collection trucks for the next six months; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes and congratulates Bryce for his entry in the Nashville Beautiful art contest and his contribution to the citywide campaign.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Bryce Enich for his participation in the 2012 Nashville Beautiful art contest.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Bryce Enich.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
