RESOLUTION NO. RS2012-518

A resolution approving amendment three to a grant from the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office of Environment and Sustainability, to increase residential energy efficiency building retrofits which include financial incentives to homeowners and community outreach programs.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office of Environment and Sustainability, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA) to increase residential energy efficiency building retrofits which include financial incentives to homeowners and community outreach programs effective June 1, approved by RS2010-1492; and,

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government received an initial allocation of $250,000.00 from SEEA and has qualified under the terms of the Southeast Community Consortium to receive additional funding; and,

Whereas, SEEA and the Metropolitan Government executed a grant amendment effective July 6, 2011 to increase the total amount which could be allocated from SEEA by $1,550,000.00 making the amount of available funding $1,800,000.00; and,

Whereas, SEEA and the Metropolitan Government executed a grant amendment effective January 1, 2012 to allocate $507,005.00 to the Metropolitan Government, making the total allocation of funds $757,005.00; and,

Whereas, now SEEA seeks to allocate an additional $130,000.00 to the Metropolitan Government, making the new total allocated to the Metropolitan Government $887,005.00; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment three be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment three to the grant by and between the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office of Environment and Sustainability, to increase residential energy efficiency building retrofits which include financial incentives to homeowners and community outreach programs, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution supersedes all prior resolutions to the extent there is any discrepancy regarding the amounts awarded under this grant.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
