RESOLUTION NO. RS2012-485

A resolution recognizing Manager Joey Hall, his staff and the 2012 Goodlettsville All-Star Little League baseball team.

WHEREAS, baseball is America’s favorite pastime and every year, with the crack of the bat and the pop of the mitt, the baseball season begins anew with the hope of winning a championship; and

WHEREAS, the 2012 Goodlettsville All-Star baseball team achieved such an extraordinary level of accomplishment in bringing excitement to both fans and supporters to the City of Goodlettsville and throughout Tennessee that we can all be proud of; and

WHEREAS, the 2012 Southeast Region champions took a never-say-die attitude into the Little League World Series held in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania on August 16-26, 2012, and won the United States Little League championship with a win over California that subsequently earned them a spot in the World Series championship game where the team fell short to Japan for the World Series title; and

WHEREAS, the superb season would not have been possible without the contributions of, Jayson Brown, Luke Brown, Lorenzo Butler, Cole Carter, Ryan Lyle, Seth Marlin, Brock Myers, Collin O’Berry, Blake Osborne, Jake Rucker, Jonathan Seals, Justin Smith, and Andrew Snyder as these young men had proven to be formidable competitors; and

WHEREAS, Manager Joey Hall, Coach Jerry Hale and Coach Steve Snyder laid the groundwork for this year’s championship team by sharing with these young men their knowledge of baseball, their years of coaching and athletic experience, and passion for the sport of baseball; and

WHEREAS, the members of the 2012 Goodlettsville All-Star baseball team epitomize all that is good in today’s student-athletes, as they have achieved success in competition while exhibiting the highest degree of character; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes and applaud the Goodlettsville All-Star baseball team and acknowledge them for their outstanding performance.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Manager Joey Hall, his staff and the 2012 Goodlettsville All-Star Little League baseball team

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Manager Joey Hall, Coaches Jerry Hale and Steve Snyder and members of the 2012 Goodlettsville All-Star baseball team.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
