RESOLUTION NO. RS2012-425

A resolution approving an application for the recycling rebate grant from the State of Tennessee to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and approving the acceptance of such grant funds upon their award to the Metropolitan Government by the State of Tennessee and the appropriation of such grant funds to the Metropolitan Department of Public Works for use as described in the grant application.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee is accepting applications for the recycling rebate grant, with a minimum award of $46,504.00, and a minimum required match of $46,504.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government’s application for the recycling rebate grant, with a minimum award of $46,504.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the same. The Metropolitan Department of Public Works is authorized to submit the executed application to the State of Tennessee.

Section 2. That upon the award by the State of Tennessee of the aforesaid grant funds to the Metropolitan Government, said funds shall be accepted and appropriated to the Metropolitan Department of Public Works for use as described in the grant application attached hereto.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
