RESOLUTION NO. RS2012-412

A resolution approving agreements between the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Electric Power Board of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of General Services for the purchase, interconnection and parallel operation of electricity generated by solar units.

WHEREAS, the Department of General Services is planning to install solar electricity generating units at 415 Douglas Street, Madison and 840 Meridian Street, Nashville; and,

WHEREAS, the electricity from the units will be delivered to the power grid of the Electric Power Board of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (NES), where it will be purchased in accordance with the attached agreements between Tennessee Valley Authority, NES and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of General Services; and,

WHEREAS, NES further requires an Interconnection and Parallel Operation Agreement to transport generated electricity into the NES lines connection; and,

WHEREAS, under Tennessee Code Annotated § 12-9-101 et seq., agreements between governmental agencies can be approved by Resolution.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the attached agreements between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Electric Power Board (NES), Tennessee Valley Authority, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of General Services, are hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the agreements to be signed for the solar power connection at 415 Douglas Street, Madison, Tennessee are: NES Contract Nos. 12-34-210 and 12-34-211.

Section 3. That the agreements to be signed for the solar power connection at 840 Meridian Street, Nashville, Tennessee are: NES Contract Nos. 12-34-182 and 12-34-183.

Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
