RESOLUTION NO. RS2012-361

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant agreement between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, to enhance the nation’s port and maritime infrastructure to prevent, respond to, and recover from threats of terrorism.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to enhance the nation’s port and maritime infrastructure to prevent, respond to, and recover from threats of terrorism; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to extend the end date of the grant term to May 31, 2013; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one to the grant agreement be accepted and approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant agreement by and between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, to enhance the nation’s port and maritime infrastructure to prevent, respond to, and recover from threats of terrorism, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby accepted and approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
