RESOLUTION NO. RS2012-345
A resolution approving an application for a Cities Combating Hunger through Afterschool Meal Programs Grant from the National League of Cities to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth, for a pilot program of after-school meals for children at certain Nashville After Zone Alliance (NAZA) community sites.
WHEREAS, the National League of Cities is accepting applications for a Cities Combating Hunger through Afterschool Meal Programs Grant, with an award of $19,700.00 with no required cash match; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the application for a Cities Combating Hunger through Afterschool Meal Programs Grant, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and said application is authorized to be submitted to the National League of Cities.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
