RESOLUTION NO. RS2012-235

A resolution recognizing the 10th anniversary of Leadership Health Care in Nashville.

WHEREAS, the health care industry is a major force in Nashville’s economy, quality of life and growth potential, responsible for 200,000 jobs and a $30 billion annual economic impact; and

WHEREAS, the Nashville Health Care Council, formed to further establish Nashville as the nation’s health care industry capital, in 2002 created Leadership Health Care to foster development of Nashville’s emerging health care professionals; and

WHEREAS, Leadership Health Care has a mission to cultivate the talent of health care professionals into the health care leaders of tomorrow; and

WHEREAS, since 2002 Leadership Health Care has fostered the next generation of health care business leaders and entrepreneurs by creating educational, mentoring and networking opportunities for its members; and

WHEREAS, with more than 650 members representing more than 300 organizations, Leadership Health Care is the premier organization for emerging leaders in the health care industry; and

WHEREAS, Leadership Health Care in 2012 will celebrate its 10th anniversary of cultivating and nurturing health care professionals and entrepreneurs who have and will continue to have a major impact on the economy of Nashville; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Leadership Health Care for a decade of service supporting and enhancing health care professionals and entrepreneurs to be future leaders in our health care industry.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 10th anniversary of Leadership Health Care in Nashville.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Judith Byrd and Caroline Young from Nashville Health Care Council.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
