RESOLUTION NO. RS2012-230

A resolution recognizing Alma Sanford for her volunteerism throughout Southeast Nashville.

WHEREAS, an active leader of her community Alma Sanford’s commitment to the Southeast Easter Event went above and beyond the call of duty, as her vision of bringing good whole some fun for the Southeast Nashville/Davidson County area should be an inspiration for all residents as this is one of the many things she has helped to make a success; and

WHEREAS, the 9th Annual Southeast Easter Event was held March 31, 2012 at the Metro Soccer Complex located on Donelson Pike; and

WHEREAS, the annual Southeast Easter Event is a gathering for the people in which area community organizations, congregations, and businesses came together to throw a great event for our kids; and

WHEREAS, Alma Sanford as Chairman of this 2012 event was instrumental in coordinating donation efforts, as well as corporate and individual sponsors for the Southeast Easter Event; and

WHEREAS, her remarkable success as a community leader is attributed to her reliance of time-honored values of hard work and common sense and her uncommon ability to work well with people from all walks of life; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Alma Sanford, the 2012 Chair of the Southeast Easter Event, for her commitment, contributions and service and convey to her our appreciation for her work in her community.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Alma Sanford for her volunteerism throughout Southeast Nashville.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Alma Sanford.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
