RESOLUTION NO. RS2012-190

A resolution approving amendment one to a Community Services Block Grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, to provide adult basic education to help achieve self-sufficiency.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, to provide adult basic education to help achieve self-sufficiency approved by RS2011-58; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by increasing the award by $3,537.35 from $1,008,740.96 to $1,012,278.31, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the Community Services Block Grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metro Action Commission, to provide adult basic education to help achieve self-sufficiency, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
