RESOLUTION NO. RS2012-131

A resolution approving amendment one to a contract for services between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and Community Food Advocates to purchase services to increase access to healthy food and physical activity opportunities, particularly in low-income neighborhoods.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a contract with Community Food Advocates to purchase services to increase access to healthy food and physical activity opportunities, particularly in low-income neighborhoods, which was approved by RS2010-1386; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the contract by reducing the amount of the contract by $188,884.30 from $640,156.00 to $451,271.70; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the contract by and between Community Food Advocates and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to purchase services to increase access to healthy food and physical activity opportunities in low-income neighborhoods, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
