RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-49
A resolution approving an agreement by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through its Department of Public Works, for the construction of approximately 4,800 linear feet of pedestrian enhancements along Harding Place, PIN Number 114944.00.
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has been awarded an estimated $1,765,000 for an enhancement agreement for the construction of approximately 4,800 linear feet of pedestrian enhancements along Harding Place from Nolensville Pike to Tampa Drive, PIN Number 114944.00, which represents eighty (80) percent of the total estimated cost of $2,206,250; and,
WHEREAS, the agreement requires matching funds in an amount of twenty (20) percent of the estimated construction cost, or $441,250, and coordination of non-participating items; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 12-9-104 authorizes the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enter agreements with the State of Tennessee by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this enhancement agreement be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the agreement by and between the Tennessee Department of Transportation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Public Works, with an estimated cost of $2,206,250, for the construction of approximately 4,800 linear feet of pedestrian enhancements along Harding Place from Nolensville Pike to Tampa Drive, PIN Number 114944.00, a copy of which contract is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this contract be appropriated to the Department of Public Works based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That any amendments to this legislation may be processed by resolution.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
