RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-3

A resolution amending the grant agreement from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) has received federal funding for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) and has distributed these funds to eligible care providers across the State; and

WHEREAS, THDA distributed $1,131,242.00 to Nashville, Davidson County for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 programs years; and

WHEREAS, by Ordinance BL 2009-420, the Metropolitan Council authorized the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) to administer the homeless prevention funds received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. RS2010-1189, the Metropolitan Council accepted a grant agreement from THDA to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through MDHA, for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program; and

WHEREAS, THDA and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through MDHA, desire to amend the grant agreement to extend the term of the agreement; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant agreement be amended.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That an amendment to the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program grant agreement by and between the Tennessee Housing Development Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, to extend the term of the agreement through June 30, 2012, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency is authorized to administer the grant in accordance with the grant agreement.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
