RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-25

A resolution approving an Amended Memorandum of Understanding between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Friends of Bells Bend related to the construction and maintenance of a 1.2 acre wetland at Bells Bend Park.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. RS2011-1775, the Metropolitan Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Friends of Bells Bend Park regarding the construction and maintenance of a 1.2 acre wetland at Bells Bend Park; and,

WHEREAS, the parties desire to enter into an Amended Memorandum of Understanding that provides additional background information regarding the wetland mitigation project and incorporates correspondence relating to the requirements of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amended Memorandum of Understanding be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amended Memorandum of Understanding between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Friends of Bells Bend, related to the construction and maintenance of a 1.2 acre wetland at Bells Bend Park, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
