RESOLUTION NO. RS2011-22
A resolution accepting a grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to provide partial funding for one employee’s salary in the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth.
WHEREAS, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $50,625.00 with a required cash match of $20,000.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to partially fund the salary and benefits for one Coordinator of Adult Literacy position in the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth, for FY 2012; and,
WHEREAS, the remainder of the subject employee’s salary and benefits will be funded from the budget for the Mayor’s Office; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Dollar General Literacy Foundation grant to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, in an amount not to exceed $50,625.00, for the partial funding of one Coordinator of Adult Literacy position in the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Mayor’s Office of Children and Youth, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
